It's finally here, your long-awaited fully. Unfortunately, after the first ride you feel a little disillusioned. Somehow you are annoyed by the constantly bumpy handling, especially when the suspension is heavily compressed. This is the result of the dreaded pedal kickback. This phenomenon occurs when the upper chain length of many full-suspension mountain bikes wants to become longer when the suspension is compressed. However, the cassette cannot rotate forwards to allow this to happen, thus inhibiting the function of the rear suspension and causing the cranks and pedals to bounce. Various ideas have tried to reduce this effect, but were not really functional or too heavy. DT Swiss has now come up with a technology that works directly in the hub, does not change the weight and can also be individually adjusted.

This system, called DEG DF Anti Pedal Kickback, can be retrofitted to all DEG72 or DEG90 rear hubs. The threaded ring and the inner, free-moving sprocket are designed in such a way that the cassette can rotate forward by 10° or 20°, depending on the setting, when the rear triangle is lifted sharply. This leads to a virtual elongation of the chain and significantly reduces the impact on the pedals. All this happens without the rider noticing anything while riding or even having to readjust. At 0°, the hub reacts as usual and a stronger kickback is to be expected.
The system can be easily installed by any skilled person and the desired angle can be individually adjusted without tools.

Note
We recommend using the supplied DT Swiss special grease to lubricate the pulleys.
